Having entered into a contract with Midrand Storage you have an obligation to pay the fees agreed for the rental of your self storage unit and if you fail to meet those agreed payments.

When no payment or late payment has been made Midrand Storage will lock your unit to restrict access. If however after that payment is still not received Midrand Storage has a right of lien over the contents. That means Midrand Storage is entitled to hold on to the contents until any debt is repaid. In the event of non-payment, the goods can eventually be sold to recover the debt.

You will be given notice of the fact that you are in arrears and what will happen if payment is not made etc. Ultimately, if you ignore the notices and don’t pay any of the arrears, then Midrand Storage as a last resort will at some point in the process be entitled to dispose of the contents of your storage unit. Midrand Storage will need to let out your unit again.

If you find yourself in difficulty please talk to one of our friendly staff at the earliest opportunity.
