What is self storage and how does it work?
Self storage is a service offering flexible, do-it-yourself storage for domestic and business customers. We provide clean, secure storage units with free access during our opening hours 7 days a week. Your storage room is locked with a padlock we provide, ensuring that only you have access to your goods.

How much does it cost to store my things with you?
The cost is R795 per month for the 3m x 5m
The cost of R895 per month for the 3m x 7m

What is included in the price – are there any hidden extras?
The rental fee you are quoted by our staff is inclusive. A refundable security deposit equal to 1 month rental which is refunded when you vacate your storage room as long as it is left empty and clean.

Do I pay weekly or monthly?
We invoice customers on a four weekly basis, always payable in advance.

Do you offer any discounts?
Depending upon availability we do offer discounts and specials. Please enquire from one of our helpful staff members.

How can I pay for my storage?
The first payment is always taken by credit/debit card, however all customers are to sign a direct debit form.

How often can I have access to my goods and how much does it cost for access?
We offer unlimited access to your goods during our opening hours 7 day a week.

Do I have to book a unit?
Yes – please contact us to arrange a time convenient to you to view a unit. In certain circumstances, we can set you up as a customer via e-mail (we will require scanned copies of ID and a recent utility bill, as well as a completed License Agreement and your first payment by credit/debit card).

How do I get my goods to you?
You can bring your goods in your own vehicle, if you have enough space. We have ample car parking at our store. Alternatively, we can recommend local van hire/removal companies to help with your transportation. We also offer free assistance with your initial move-in. Enquire to see If you qualify.

Do I have to sign a storage agreement?
Yes, you do need to sign a straightforward Storage Agreement prior to moving into your room. Our staff will be happy to talk you through the contents of the agreement and the key terms you are committing too.

What is the smallest room you have available?
We only have two sizes 3m x 5m and 3m x 7m.

Can I transfer to another room if I find I have too much or too little space?
You are welcome to downgrade or upgrade your room size depending on availability.

How high are your storage rooms?
Our rooms are just over six feet height.

Are the storage rooms heated?
Our rooms are not heated.

What sort of security do you have?
Midrand Storage incorporates extensive security features, including: controlled access, 24 hour Digital CCTV monitoring all entrances & exits, and mobile security patrols.

What is the minimum time I can store with you?
Our minimum storage period is 1 month plus 1 months notice. We will continue to invoice you until such time as you give us 1 months written notice of your intention to vacate the unit.

Once I have a room how long can I stay?
You are welcome to stay for as long as you require.

Do I have to give you notice to leave?
We require 1 months written notice (letter/e-mail) of your intention to vacate your unit. We will continue to invoice you until such time as you give us 1 months written notice of your intention to vacate the unit. At this time a refund will be processed for the initial security deposit and any unused monies that you have paid.

What can I store?
You can store almost anything in our rooms.
The only exceptions are;
Living items – such as animals & plants
Hazardous materials – such as flammable liquids and explosives
Items that could decompose – such as exposed foodstuffs
Unauthorised or illegal goods – such as firearms etc.
Beware – Customs and Police have statutory powers allowing them to gain access to your room should they serve the appropriate notice on Midrand Storage. We also conduct random security checks at our store for the protection of all our customers.
